You toss your bag of gold to him, and the man in the boat catches it, and then empties the bag into the river. As the gold coins plop into the water, a splash occurs, and a monstrous fish swims up and eats the gold. "I have to do that, or he'll sink my boat." he says. "Now come aboard and I'll ferry you across the river, but don't forget; that fish won't let me bring anyone back." You climb aboard and are paddled to the far shore, where he leaves you on a small dock.
